Gym Construction Overview

Fitness build-outs fail on three things: floor loading, ventilation and sound transfer to the neighbors. We solve all three in preconstruction — structural review for platform and rack loads, oversized HVAC and dedicated exhaust for studio and locker areas, and isolation assemblies that keep dropped weights from becoming a lease violation.

Our gym scope includes demolition, rubber and turf flooring systems, weight platforms, mirror and rig installation, spin and group-fitness studios with lighting and AV rough-in, locker rooms with showers, saunas and tile, juice bars and reception, plus full electrical, plumbing and HVAC.

We have built for national club operators and independent boutique studios alike, and we know how to keep a location trading while a second floor or locker room is under construction.

How We Deliver Gym Projects

The steps below are specific to gym work — the details that keep these projects on schedule and out of trouble.

1

Structural & Acoustic Study

Floor loading, deflection and sound transfer studied before design so dropped weights never become a lease problem.

2

Equipment Layout & MEP Sizing

Rig, rack and cardio layout locked with your equipment vendor, then HVAC, exhaust and power sized to that plan.

3

Permits & Landlord Approvals

Filings, occupancy load, egress and landlord approvals handled together with the acoustic assemblies they require.

4

Floors, Rigs & Wet Areas

Isolation assemblies, rubber and turf flooring, platforms, mirrors, rigs, locker rooms, showers and saunas installed in sequence.

5

Equipment Install & Open

Equipment delivery, anchoring, power and data coordinated, then a punched facility ready for member onboarding.

Gym Construction FAQs

How do you handle noise complaints from tenants below?

We design and install isolation assemblies — floating floors and resilient underlayment — sized to the equipment you're actually installing.

Can you build in phases so we stay open?

Yes. We regularly phase clubs floor by floor so memberships keep training through construction.

Do you install owner-supplied equipment?

We coordinate delivery and installation with your equipment vendor and provide the anchoring, power and data required.
